Outstanding Basketball is designed by coaches and is for coaches (and parents) who are passionate about youth basketball and want to be the best coach they can possibly be for their teams.

Head Coach – Gary Hull

Our head coach, Gary Hull, has been coaching high school basketball for over 25 years. He is a proud father of two and has counted it a privilege to coach both of his children. 

He has close to 500 career wins which makes him one of the most successful coaches in Oregon history. His teams have made many appearances at the state tournament.  Most recently he has had the honor of coaching the 2A state  champions for the 2010 – 2011 season.  On numerous occassions he has received the 2A Basketball Coach of the Year at the league level as well as twice voted the 2A State Coach of the Year. In 2009 he received the honor of being selected Sectional Coach of the Year (which includes the following states: Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Alaska for all levels in high school.)

At the youth level he has coached several very successful teams as well as having run very popular basketball camps for over 25 years.  His ability to coach as both high school and youth levels is apparent.  Emphasis on fundamentals is his priority.  Time is dedicated in each practice for this purpose and it is the practice plan featured on this site that will, if followed, produce the same results to the teams who implement them.

Coach Hull emphasizes teamwork, having fun, and fundamental basketball skills to get the most out of each player on the floor.
